HOW DO I USE THESE BOOKS AS AN ADVENT CALENDAR?
Ultimately, that is completely up to you and your family! For our family, we choose to read one book per day in December, leading up to Christmas day. You can even wrap each one to be opened each day!
December can be a busy time. If this doesn’t seem like a schedule that will fit your family, its perfectly fine to alter it—perhaps you read one book each Sunday leading up to Christmas.
Or, read a book every other week all year!
This isn’t set isn’t meant to add stress to your life—use them in whatever way best fits your family’s needs.
HOW DO I USE THE REFLECT SECTION OF EACH BOOK?
The “Reflect” section of these books include bible study question which are intended to generate thoughtful discussion among the family. Feel free to discuss all of the questions or pick and choose!
This section sometimes mentions parts that don’t appear in the “toddler” version of the story—feel free to skip or modify those questions.
HOW TO USE THESE 24 BOOKS WITH A LARGE AGE RANGE OF CHILDREN?
This is again something that can be done in multiple different ways. Here are some ideas:
1. Read the younger version of the book with the family, and have the older children read the more in-depth version independently. Discuss the reflection pages with your older children after they’ve read it.
2. Have your older children read the longer version prior to reading the younger version with the family, then discuss the “Reflect” section together as a family.
3. Read the younger version to your younger children, the older version to your older children, and discuss the “Reflect” page as a family.
4. Have your older children read the older version independently, and then have them read the younger version to the family. Families with multiple children can take turns being the reader!
Feel free to use these books in a way that best fits your family’s needs as your children grow! Traditions are meant to grow and adapt.
TWO BOOKS IN ONE
WHY ARE SOME OF THE PAGES UPSIDE DOWN IN THE HARDBACK BOOKS?
This is one of the best parts of this set of books! I truly wanted to get the best bang for my buck when creating this set. I didn’t want it to be something my children grew out of as they grew older! That is why I created these to be two books in one.
Each cover has a flag at the top to indicate which version of the story will be right-side-up. The center page is sideways—this is the “Reflect” section which includes thought-provoking bible study questions for your family to discuss. This promotes reading comprehension and family bonding!
Amazon does not allow upside down pages, but there are still two stories in each of the paperback books! To read the adolescent version of the story, simply flip to the center of the book and start reading at the cover page to the right of the Reflect questions!
WHAT IF I DON’T AGREE WITH THE AGE SUGGESTION?
Every family practices their faith differently, and every child reads at a different reading level. While we have age indicators on each version of every book, it is absolutely not set in stone—do what is best for your family!
WHAT DO I DO WITH THE ADVENT BOOK SET WHEN MY CHILDREN MOVE OUT?
There are so many options! Keep the books around and continue the tradition with potential grandkids. Pass them down to a younger family member. Donate them to another family or your church to use in a youth group.

CAN I PURCHASE THE BOOKS INDIVIDUALLY?
Sort of—Individual copies of the paperback versions are available on Amazon.
Unfortunately, in order to keep costs down, we don’t offer the sale of individual hardback books—however, we understand that accidents happen. Especially when making memories with little ones! If you already own a set of books and need to replace a damaged book, please reach out to us.
WHY IS THIS SET SO EXPENSIVE?
I recognize that this is not a cheap investment. Please understand that I’ve done everything I can to keep the cost as low as possible without sacrificing quality. My goal is not to make a bunch of money on these books, but only to make them available.
If you prefer to buy a couple at a time throughout the year, the paperbacks are available individually on Amazon.
DO YOU HAVE CHEPER OPTIONS?
YES! In an attempt to make these as accessible as possible to all families, I have made available Digital Download PDF versions on my Etsy page.
Additionally, the toddler versions of the story are available for free in video format on the YouTube page.
WHERE DO YOU SHIP?
The set of books are shipped from Indiana to the 48 contiguous states. We do not currently ship internationally or to Hawaii or Alaska.
